The Heart Behind Founding Her Sunday Bloom
I am passionate about nurturing women's dreams of entrepreneurship because I believe in the incredible potential that lies within every woman to create and impact the world around her. Supporting women on their entrepreneurial journeys means not only empowering them with the skills and resources they need but also fostering a community where they can share experiences, learn from one another, and overcome challenges together.
I aim to help break down barriers and increase confidence, creating a vibrant tapestry of female entrepreneurs who uplift each other and contribute meaningfully to the economy. As a lover of flowers, the site that captivates me the most is a large pasture of wildflowers all in bloom! We, as women, can BLOOM together!
My Expertise
With undergraduate degrees in finance and economics, along with an MBA from Webster University, I have built a solid foundation for my entrepreneurial journey. I launched my first business in the 90s (I was super young), delving into the world of entrepreneurship with enthusiasm and a sometimes unclear vision. Over the years, I have remained committed to pursuing my dreams, honing my skills, and adapting to the ever-changing business landscape.
One day while sitting in my stunning office with a view of the Washington Nationals baseball stadium, I realized that my pursuit of a corporate finance career wasn’t what I truly desired. The vision I had of climbing the corporate ladder became overshadowed by my deep yearning for full-time entrepreneurship. In that pivotal moment, I understood that fulfilling my dreams meant taking the leap into a world where I could truly bloom as an entrepreneur.
I did not know how I would transition from my six-figure corporate job, managing $80 million dollar budgets, to managing my own businesses and raising my young children. The former felt easier at the moment, but the latter pulled at every fiber of my soul.
In 2021 I took a giant leap of faith when I nervously submitted my resignation letter to my company. They tried to convince me to stay. They even offered me two months of leave if I reconsidered. The offer was extremely tempting, but I knew it was time. That day, my “side business,” of brand design became my full-time business. I met with a client that night who covered my entire month’s pay! That night I finally understood what happens when faith intersects with action.
My blend of academic knowledge and real-world experience has shaped my approach to business ownership. I have a heart to see other women’s entrepreneurial dreams come to fruition, which is why I created Her Sunday Bloom.
